This is the second worst year for natural disasters on record…
In the US – and we’re not even halfway through the year yet. Per CNN and The Weather Channel just a few hours ago, FEMA is set to run out of money before the second half of the year starts, which brings pounding hurricanes to the US’s south and east coasts and terrible wildfires and drought to the US west coast.
What’s concerning here isn’t that FEMA will run out of funds mid-year but that this year has been so bad already, that they’ll have nothing left to combat the worst part of the year for disasters, August-November. It should be apparent to most folks at this point, that the weather’s clearly not improving, it’s only getting worse.
And we’ve been dormant since 2017, but that’s over. It’s time for a People Powered response to what meteorologists say may be the worst hurricane season on record – starting in August.
